The Secret Sea is the stage name of acclaimed Israeli artist Amit Erez, one of the most substantial songwriting talents to emerge in the Tel Aviv indie scene this past decade. Prior to being a solo project, The Secret Sea recorded and performed as a six piece ensemble throughout the years 2010-2015, releasing the "Not About Us" EP in 2012 (winning Israel's 106FM's "EP of the year" award) and a self titled LP in 2013 followed by a show at Primavera Festival in 2014.
From the press:
“Hailing from Tel Aviv, this sextet led by Amit Erez was one of the big revelations of the day.
The songs of their self-titled record caused a big sensation.” (La Vanguardia, ES)
“Gorgeous, moving album” (Thewildhoneypie.com, NYC)
“A small miracle, or maybe a big one.
Israel's answer to Arcade Fire, a gem of an album" (Mako Website, IL)
Amit Erez has released four albums under his own name and performed countless shows around the world. He won the Vox Populi prize of the Independent Music Awards in 2008 for his single "Postcard".
That same year he performed at the Italia Wave Festival (preceding headliners The Chemical Brothers) and at the Popkomm conference in Berlin.
Amit's albums were distributed in Germany and were supported by European tours.
He also toured Europe and the US as the guitar player for Israeli Art Rock group Eatliz.
